Four photographers, one shared focus on connection and support
The second edition of PUUR brought four photographers together at Kasteel Borluut in Sint Denijs Westrem. Their work formed an honest and varied exhibition, with contributions from Jo De Pauw, Sarah De Zutter, Peter Vancoillie and Virginie Vlaminck. The rooms of the castle showed a broad spectrum of imagery. Quiet nature scenes, expansive landscapes, thoughtful portraits and street photography from different parts of the world created a coherent and engaging whole.
Support for Myanmar
As in previous editions, PUUR linked the exhibition to a charitable purpose. This year the focus went to Myanmar, a country facing ongoing civil conflict. In April, a severe earthquake struck several regions, including the area around Mandalay. It is the region where Mogok Tea is based and where the impact of recent events has been felt strongly.

Phyu Thwe, founder of Mogok Tea, travelled to Belgium to be present throughout the event. Her teas come from Five Trees Estate, where the team continues to work under challenging circumstances. The estate remains an important source of income and support for families in Kyauk Saung. Tea Kulture contributes to this support with medical assistance for the community. Tea with a story
Visitors were able to taste several Mogok teas during the weekend, including Black Ruby, Tree Spirit and Tiny Temple. They received background on how the teas are made and on the situation in the region. The tasting, organised in collaboration with Tea Kulture, offered a moment to connect flavours with the story and people behind the leaves.
A strong second edition
This edition stood out for the combination of an engaging exhibition and a meaningful cause. PUUR brought strong photographic work together and, at the same time, created attention for a region that is in need of support today.
