Our Story

From how we source to how we serve, we choose to work with respect for nature and for tradition. Not because it is trendy, but because it feels right and because we believe good tea has the power to bring people closer, one cup at a time.

From IT to My Tea

To be honest? I was never a coffee person. Tea was always my passion. Oolong or Darjeeling, Japanese Sencha or English Breakfast — I tried them all and savored every cup. My passion grew so much that, in 2021, I earned my Tea Sommelier diploma from the Flemish Tea Academy. As a full-time IT professional, this was my chance to step away from the screen and learn something entirely new.
Satemwa

And learn I did — even after my studies. I visited tea plantations in Malawi, on the other side of the world and the production line. I formed close connections with tea growers in Myanmar, where civil war threatens their harvest. I met people who devote their lives to tea, tasted leaves fresh as morning dew and saw firsthand the struggles farmers face. And soon, I realized:

With good tea, you taste the difference. And you can also make a difference!

Fair Quality Tea with Care for People and Nature

Good tea is grown with respect for nature, by people who truly understand their expertise. Yes, tea farmers are true artisans at heart. They cherish their craft and pass it down with care and love from generation to generation.

By choosing a direct line from plantation to teapot, Tea Kulture guarantees pure natural quality tea sourced from farmers who are paid fairly and live in dignified conditions. And because ‘ dignified conditions’ can be a vague term I like to make it concrete. For example, by supporting local projects that enhance education, healthcare and sustainable agriculture for our farmers and their communities: This way, every cup of tea also gives back.
