Women In Tea

Women in Tea Uganda is an association of more than 1,200 women, spread across 26 districts in Uganda. The association was founded in March 2023 with the aim of bringing women in the tea sector together and strengthening their position in the supply chain. Where Ugandan tea has traditionally been sold as anonymous bulk tea, Women in Tea Uganda aims to offer an alternative through specialty tea.

Women receive training in tea processing, quality control, and entrepreneurship. Partners such as the International Tea & Coffee Academy and Solidaridad East and Central Africa provide support on the technical and social aspects of the transition.
