Description

Lemongrass Moringa is crafted by Kazi Yetu in Tanzan i a. The leaves of the moringa tree — known as the miracle tree for its natural richness in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants — form the base of this herbal infusion together with lemongrass.

The lemongrass comes from smallholder farmers in Bubbuli, in the cool, humid Usambara Mountains, while the moringa is grown on small farms in the fertile east of the country.

The infusion brews a clear yellow cup with aromas of citrus and green herbs. The taste is fresh, vegetal and lightly sweet, with a natural balance between lemongrass and moringa.

The story behind the tea: Kazi Yetu

Kazi Yetu means "our work" in Swahili. In Tanzania, most tea leaves the country unprocessed and anonymous. Kazi Yetu deliberately chooses a different direction: every step, from picking to packaging, provides work for people in the country itself.

In their factory in Dar es Salaam, they process, blend and package tea from the Usambara mountains and spices from Zanzibar. The majority of employees are women with permanent contracts, a wage above the minimum wage, and social protection.
