Mogok Tea is a micro tea factory on the Five Trees Estate, located in the mountains of Myanmar, 200 kilometres north of Mandalay. Phyu Thwe's family produces tea on a small scale as an alternative to the mining that long dominated the region. Everything is hand-picked and hand-processed.
The tea won three prizes at the Leafies Awards of the UK Tea Academy, including a Tea for Life Award for social impact. The project aims to offer work and prospects to the community and its workers.
