Kaley Tea Estate

Kaley Tea Estate is located in the Kotapola area on the south-western edge of Sri Lanka, twelve kilometres from the Sinharaja rainforest. The Wickremesooriya family has been growing and processing tea here since 2015 in an artisan manner, without chemical pesticides or artificial fertilisers. Picking is always done by hand, as is the rolling of the leaves.

Of the 45 hectares, Kaley sets aside 9 hectares as natural rainforest. In 2024, The Leafies in London awarded the business a sustainability prize. Kaley holds USDA Organic certification and EU Organic recognition.
